Bearsuit – the ‘Jesus
Will Spear You Through the Heart’EP (Fortuna Pop!)

I like how the description 'indie'
can cover both music far more down-to-earth and fuzzily expressive than
the mainstream, and music that more care has been taken with than in
its, less sophisticated, mainstream counterpart. Another Fortuna Pop!
band, the Would-Be-Goods, insert themselves primly in the latter camp;
this falls, in a twelve-legged heap, in that former category. As essential
as underage drinking and just as messy, here come the fantastic Bearsuit
of Norwich with 5 tracks of noisy, spooky, hissy brass bastard pop.
Doesn’t seem quite as catchy at first as previous singles, but
never mind, because one of those singles ‘Hey Charlie Hey Chuck’
is included here too. On this release it is, however, sung in Finnish.
They’re a cross between something really good and something really
weird. But girls shouting “woo!” in the middle of
songs shall always be appreciated here. “Woo!”
